Be aware of your Kryptonite
By Kevin

Remember the Superman cartoons and movies?

Clark Kent landed on Earth from Krypton, as it was being destroyed. The very substance that destroyed his planet was far enough away from him that he expected to survive and thrive. As the story goes, we come to depend on Clark, who would be called Superman, to keep the world safe from harm.

There was one problem with the plan, another antagonist comes along, known as Lex Luther, who finds the very substance that would criple and destory the red-capped wonder.

Superman would find Kryptonite to be the lone substance (outside of Lois Lane) that would stop him and render his powers useless.

While Clark Kent is a fictional character the lesson provides a powerful reminder for each of us. The lesson?...

Know your own kryptonite.

What are things, situations, or circumstances that prevent you from being the very best you can be? Is it distractions that you allow to creep in through the work day? Is there something you value that drains your wallet?

Whatever it may be, it's time to take true stock in what it does to prevent you from being your very best.

Here's an assignment for you today. List 5 things, situations, or circumstances that keep you pulled away from your own power so that you can't do good for others.

2. __________________________

3. __________________________

4. __________________________

5. __________________________

Now that you know what your top-5 debilitating substances are, develop a plan to avoid them.

Superman didn't debate whether Kryptonite was good or bad, he just knew he had to avoid them at all costs, sometimes going WAY out of his way to avoid it all together.

So here's the bottom line... Don't ignore those things, situations, or circumstances that bring you down. Be aware of them and plan to handle them effectively or avoid them altogether.

You were created to be more of who you are in order to help those around you.

Be aware of your Kryptonite and find a way to live, thrive, and help others, without the distractions that drain you of your own superpowers.
